NEWSFLASH: Josh Ozersky is a Dweeb

We’ve always been leery of the boring, idiotic world of Josh Ozersky (and the numerous incarnations of his online bullshit), but a video segment from The Soup was difficult to resist. As you might expect, Ozersky— a "clueless, overbloated, publicist-indentured, sycophant[ic]" blogger— was in fact pilloried by No Reservations... Read More »

If You Are the One

So, I know it’s been a while since I recommended any movies with F&B related themes. Well, I just found one! OK, so it’s not exactly F&B "related," but the scenery contains some of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever seen. Some of the exterior scenes are stunning as well. On top of that, the story is warm,... Read More »

Marquis Philips Roogle 2008 – Riesling – Australia

Cost: $13.99/Bottle Light topaz in color, crisp and grippy on the palate, this Marquis Philips Roogle Riesling is quite a bargain find. Aromas and flavors expose a grapefruit, lime and tangerine dominated essence. It finishes strong with that citrusy lingering aftertaste, quite... Read More »

Sushi… Anyone?

This just in, from Juan Andres Garcia: "That was taken at 44th St and 6th Ave at the southeast corner sewer. Yes, those are eels, and yes, they are real. Actually, three slithered out…" Umm… Yum? Uh, excuse me, I have to go and vomit now.

abbe diaz says: Oh rilly, Sietsema? Well, I’m kinda irked by you both.

I’m no fan of A.A.Gill; lots of people more au courant than you already know this. And I don’t generally make of habit of reading you or other writers of your "genre"– (so, no offense) primarily because you’re all kinda a little... Read More »

Producer Zainab Jah and director Tim Naylor are currently in pre-production for the first eight-episode season of PX This, created and co-written by Abbe Diaz, the "former maitre d' to the stars." The new web series is based on Diaz's [book] by the same title...
Producer Jah had heretofore intended to keep the project under wraps... until last week, when, on October 14th, 2008, she discovered an article in Variety... It seems CBS has just signed a development deal with Jason Jones and Samantha Bee (The Daily Show) to pen an as-yet-unnamed series about the "behind the scenes world of a celebrity chef... and the two women who run his cooking empire."
The series treatment for PX This (registered with the WGA on December 7, 2007) which has been making the rounds of several Hollywood agencies, is strikingly and undeniably similar to CBS's as-yet-unwritten concept.
"We are still hesitant to provide all the details," says Jah, "but do feel... proud to divulge some of the names involved," which include... Michael Imperioli, Steven R. Schirripa, John Ventimiglia (The Sopranos), and producer Brian Grazer...

"...will debut on PX This's site mid next year, assuming the producers can fine someone fierce enough to play Diaz. We can't wait to see how they cast the character that's 'loosely based' on Jean-Georges." - New York Magazine
